The Situation

As one of China’s leading commercial real estate landmarks, Wanda Plaza is widely recognized for its large-scale developments and broad presence across major cities. At Qingdao Wanda Plaza, the flooring presented a unique challenge: the plaza features artificial stone floors, which are visually attractive but difficult to restore and maintain with conventional polishing methods. Artificial stone typically contains resin and composite fillers, making it more challenging to achieve a high-gloss finish than natural stone surfaces. Over time, the existing maintenance approach failed to deliver the desired polishing effect. The surface gloss became dull, and the floor showed visible fading, scratches and wear. The client needed an efficient, high-performance diamond polishing solution to upgrade both floor restoration and daily maintenance.

For high-traffic commercial environments, traditional chemical polishing and maintenance methods often create a repeated maintenance burden. Crystallization agents may increase on-site safety concerns and labor risk, while the ongoing consumption of chemicals and conventional polishing pads adds to overall maintenance cost. Chemical polishing can also leave stubborn slurry and residual waste that is difficult to clean thoroughly. The Solution

Traditional chemical maintenance mainly fills deep scratches with polishing powder instead of removing them from the floor surface. For high-traffic commercial plazas, this means the gloss may fade again soon after treatment. EZshine Mshine Marble Pads provide a full mechanical restoration and polishing system for stone floors. By applying progressive diamond grits step by step, the pads help remove scratches, refine the surface and restore a long-lasting shine — using only water.

Applied Process:

• Step 1 – Floor Restoration: A single-disc floor machine was used with Mshine Marble Pads in 50#, 100# and 200# grits for wet grinding. This process helped level tiny uneven lippage at floor joints, flatten the surface and repair visible scratches along joint edges.
  
• Step 2 – Deep Cleaning, Fine Grinding & Pre-Polishing: Mshine Marble Pads in 400# and 800# grits were applied with pure water for deep cleaning and fine grinding. This step removed embedded dirt, grime and residual contaminants from floor pores and surface gaps, while also eliminating fine scratches. It created a cleaner, more uniform pre-gloss surface for final polishing.
• Step 3 – Mechanical Polishing: The process was completed with Mshine Marble Pads in 1500# and 3000# grits for precision mechanical polishing. This final stage delivered a smoother, brighter and more reflective finish with significantly improved gloss levels.
